Dr. Mercedes Smith
Optometrist
Dr. Mercedes Smith was raised in Long Beach, CA. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Texas at San Antonio and received her Doctor of Optometry from Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University in Philadelphia. She currently serves as the Secretary of the Vermont Optometric Association and a member of the American Optometric Association. She is a passionate advocate of patient access to care in underserved communities. Dr. Smith resides in Springfield, VT with her family. She enjoys spending her free time making art, music, and traveling.
Shawn Smith, MBA
Business Manager
Shawn was born and raised in Vineland, NJ. Shawn received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Texas at San Antonio and received his Master of Business Administration with a concentration in healthcare from Clarion University of Pennsylvania. A nature lover at heart, Shawn thoroughly enjoys all the outdoor activities Vermont has to offer. He resides in Springfield with his wife, Dr. Smith, their son, and two cats Artie and Simon.
MacKenzie Bourgeois
Optical Sales Associate
MacKenzie is a born and raised Bennington local, participating in a mentorship to become a certified optician. When she's not at work, she can be found spending time with her friends and family, frequenting their local spots for coffee and a bite to eat. Her favorite downtime activities include knitting, crocheting, and reading.
Ashley Provencher
Optical Sales Associate
Ashley was born and raised in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. Ashley attended a nursing program at Berkshire Medical Center and was a registered nurse for four years. She also earned a cosmetology license and worked as a cosmetologist for six years. Ashley enjoys being a mom to her three children and two dogs. Ashley enjoys hiking, walking her dogs, and being around family.
Mandy Stratton
Optometric Technician
Mandy is a Vermont native and a Springfield High School graduate. Mandy enjoys spending her free time reading, hiking, listening to music, and going to the gym. She loves spending time with friends, family, and her three cats at home. Mandy is working on furthering her education by taking college classes in hopes to become an optometrist one day!
